Holmsley Campsite

Holmsley is a big, well-run Camping in the Forest site near Burley. Where we were pitched, there was a stile straight into open forest. Pitches with electric hookup are available alongside non-electric. Toilet and shower blocks are clean and well maintained, and there’s a self-service dog wash on site. We found the site to be tranquil and well-maintained and we had plenty of space, even with a 7m tent and car. The staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived. There is a little shop on site, but we didn’t use it while we were there. The drinking water was a bit of a walk away, so we were glad we had a large, collapsable water container with us.
Up to three dogs are allowed per pitch. The ground is hard – rock pegs and a decent mallet are essential. Sat nav postcodes vary by source; the campsite signs from Forest Road are reliable once you’re close.
