Dartmouth Steam Railway

A heritage steam line that runs the seven miles between Paignton’s Queen’s Park Station and Kingswear, with a free passenger ferry across the Dart to Dartmouth included in the standard ticket. The journey takes around 30 minutes each way and follows the Torbay coast before tracking the wooded edge of the Dart estuary. Dogs are welcomed on board for a £3 fare per dog (registered guide dogs travel free), and the operator runs a full schedule from spring through to autumn plus the Train of Lights service in winter. Tickets in 2026 are £24.50 adult, £17.50 child and £75 family (two adults, up to three children). Combined Round Robin and river cruise tickets are also available.
