The Hurlers, Cheesewring and Minions

A high stretch of Bodmin Moor centred on the village of Minions, with three Bronze Age stone circles (the Hurlers) and two outlying standing stones (the Pipers) within easy walking of the car park. The Cheesewring, a natural granite tor that looks like a stack of cider-press stones, sits a steeper walk further on, above the remains of Stowe’s Pound hillfort. The Minions Heritage Centre is in a restored engine house and covers the area’s tin and copper mining past, part of the UNESCO Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape.
