The Ward Room
The Ward Room
A family-run waterfront cafe and restaurant on Fore Street, looking out over Salcombe estuary. The Ward Room has been part of the Salcombe waterfront since the 1980s, with the current family taking over in 2014. The kitchen leans into local suppliers: hand-picked crab from Excel Crab, fish from S and J Fisheries, meat from M C Kelly butchers, and Origin Coffee. Breakfast and lunch run daily, with house specialities including the Full English, crab benedict and crab sandwich. Thursday to Saturday evening service runs to 8pm. Outdoor tables on the waterfront are the standout spot, and that is where dogs are welcomed.
