Talland Bay

Two small coves between Looe and Polperro, on a stretch of coast designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Heritage Coast. Talland Sands is the larger and sandier of the two, with rock pools appearing as the tide drops and the boiler of the French steam trawler Marguerite, wrecked in 1922, still visible among the rocks at low water. The smaller Rotterdam Beach lies a short scramble to the east. The South West Coast Path crosses the cliffs above, linking Looe to Polperro. Access is by narrow steep lanes and a pay-and-display car park sits behind the main beach.
