The Crows Nest Inn
The Crows Nest Inn
The Crows Nest Inn sits in Darite, on the south-east edge of Bodmin Moor and just off the Caradon trail. The building started out as a mine captain’s house and pay office for local miners, then St Austell Brewery bought it for £330 in 1905 and turned it into a pub. It was the Sun Inn until 1985, when it took its current name.
The pub welcomes dogs throughout, in both the bar and the restaurant. The menu is pub classics and chef’s specials, leaning on Cornish suppliers where it can. There’s a large on-site car park, and overnight parking is £15 – free if you eat at the pub. A useful stop if you’re walking the moor, or pairing a day at Cardinham Woods with somewhere to eat after.
